Employee Profile: Sandi Zaganiacz
Meet Sandi Zaganiacz, Business Insurance Account Manager at Webber and Grinnell.
Nicknamed the “Insurance Goddess” by her co-workers, Sandi is a true veteran of both the agency and the industry. When she was hired 32 years ago, Bill Grinnell’s father, Fred, was at the helm and the agency was called Woodward and Grinnell. Sandi remembers the day that Rich Webber came to the office for an interview.
Starting out on the personal insurance side, Sandi was eventually promoted to department manager. She moved to commercial lines 15 years ago and now works primarily with large accounts.
Sandi strives to build strong relationships with clients, underwriters and fellow staff members. “I enjoy the office camaraderie and working with people,” she said. “My job is to make everyone happy.”
While much has changed since her career in insurance began, Sandi’s enthusiasm for her work has endured. She is eager to tackle the challenges that arise each day. “The industry is forever growing and always changing,” Sandi said. “I’m always learning something new.”
Many people also know Sandi by another nickname. For the past five years, she has co-hosted a Sunday morning radio show at UMASS with her son, Todd. A tribute to their Polish heritage, the show features lively polka music. Sandi also reports the weather during their broadcast, a job which has earned her the title of “Weather Girl”. When working with insurance clients over the phone, some recognize her voice and ask if she is indeed Weather Girl.
Happiest when she is around others, Sandi enjoys spending time with family and friends. A western Massachusetts native, she lives in Sunderland with her husband.
